The clients contacted J P Building, as they wanted to maximise their living space and were keen to transform their garage into a useable area. The project was carried out under permitted development rights with a building control notice.
After completing the initial preparation work, the garage door was removed and brickwork was carried out to create an opening for the new window. Moving to the inside – floor, walls and roof were fully insulated and plastered to suit. A diving wall was put in place to create a utility room at the back and the rooms were finished off with laminate flooring, second fix carpentry and the installation of radiators.
Following on from the garage conversion, we then moved into the lounge to replace the existing back window with French doors opening into the garden.
The clients were keen to renew their driveway, so this was completed with block paving and a contrasting border to set off their new garage conversion.
